What is photobiomodulation and SoLá Pelvic Therapy®?

Leveraging the power of innovative technology to provide pain relief.

What is photobiomodulation?

Photobiomodulation is a type of therapy using near-infrared laser or low level laser. It is also known as red light laser therapy. This type of light gets absorbed by mitochondria within our cells. The light energy activates mitochondria resulting in muscle relaxation, increased blood flow, decreased inflammation, and reduced pain. Photobiomodulation has been shown to help conditions like chronic neck pain and low back pain.

What is SoLá Pelvic Therapy®?

Although photobiomodulation has been well studied in chronic pain, this type of therapy has only recently been applied to pelvic pain. Researchers have developed a device that can deliver photobiomodulation to the pelvis through the vagina. This device is called SoLá Pelvic Therapy®. The device is composed of a laser box that generates this light energy. The energy box is connected to a sterile wand that can be gently placed in the vagina. When the device is activated, the light energy travels to the pelvic muscles and organs and activates the mitochondria in those tissues.
